In the next months to come, Venezuela will be eating rice grown from Guyana. The Associated Press reported that Guyana will be selling the commodity to Venezuela in a $38M deal. About 70,000 tons would be sold to Venezuela at $700 per ton which will take 30 percent of the autumn harvest. The trade agreement will also help offset a $160 million debt by Guyana from the oil it receives under the the PetroCaribe agreement.
